Netlify raises $105M to invest in our web development platform and Jamstack ecosystem
The Jamstack decoupled architecture has forever changed the direction of the modern web. The next challenge is consuming, adopting and integrating this explosion of APIs and services without sacrificing performance. That's whyour mission is to unite the Jamstack ecosystem and deliver the best developer experience.
Today we announce $105M in Series D funding, led by Bessemer Venture Partners, to accelerate innovation in our platform and the Jamstack ecosystem. Along with the funding, we have some big news:
Netlify acquires OneGraph. This powerful GraphQL platform simplifies the integration and management of APIs and services that web apps now rely on, and the team will help us drive the next wave of Netlify innovation!
Netlify launches $10M Jamstack Innovation Fund to fuel the next decade of the web through early-stage startups. If you have a startup in the modern web ecosystem, check out the program and apply to learn more.
Netlify commits $1M to open source through donations, upstream contributions, project promotion and free usage of Netlify for open source projects.
While we work to fully realize the vision of the OneGraph integration, we're anxious to get new features in your hands! The first release is available today in public beta: API Authentication on Netlify. With one-click in the Netlify UI, you can now generate and manage authentication tokens for a catalog of third-party APIs. The feature is available to all Netlify users from the Netlify Labs dashboard.
Twilio Engineering Teams Deploy 10-15x/day on Netlify
Harrison Harnisch recently spoke at Jamstack Conf about migrating Twilio Console to Netlify in order to manage its scale of 4.5 million monthly pageviews and customers in over 200 countries. They're already seeing impressive results, including:
Increased development velocity. Prior to the migration, teams were bulk shipping once per week. Now they're deploying 10-15x a day.
Global improvements on core performance metrics like initial page load and time to first byte.
More time to focus on building business logic, and less time spent on administering the application.
